Betavib Vibworks Vibration Analyzer-Data Collector and Balancer
In short: VibWorks is not simply a vibration meter. It is a portable vibration condition-monitoring and machinery diagnostics ecosystem, with the option to progress from routine route collection → detailed multichannel analysis → precision rotor balancing
| Function | What it does |
|---|---|
| Vibration Data Collection | Collects overall vibration, FFT spectra, time waveforms and other machine-condition data |
| Vibration Analysis | Frequency/time-domain analysis, envelope detection, order analysis, orbit analysis, Bode/coast-down and phase analysis |
| Dynamic Balancing | One- or two-plane rotor balancing with live amplitude/phase/vector information |
| Multichannel Analysis | VibWorks Analyzer supports 4–32 channels for advanced diagnostic work |
| Bearing Diagnostics | Envelope/demodulation analysis and automated fault-frequency management |
| Machine Database | Stores equipment, measurement history, routes and asset information |
| Reporting | Generates condition-monitoring and balancing reports |
| Camera / Audio | Collector platform incorporates an integrated camera and audio capabilities |
| Cloud / UHDM | VibWorks LT can synchronize data to the cloud and access BETAVIB’s UHDM analysis platform |
1. VibWorks Collector
The Collector is intended for field technicians performing routine condition-monitoring routes. It provides real-time FFT analysis, velocity/acceleration spectra, simultaneous triaxial acquisition, long-time waveform collection, envelope/demodulation processing, and asset photography.
BETAVIB’s configurations include Knight, Rook, and King strategies, with progressively more advanced analysis, reporting, anomaly detection and UHDM capabilities.
2. VibWorks Analyzer
The Analyzer turns the hardware into a more sophisticated multichannel diagnostic system, supporting 4 to 32 channels. It is particularly suited to troubleshooting complicated machinery rather than simply collecting routine route data.
Notable functions include:
- Orbit analysis using accelerometers or proximity probes
- FRF/modal testing
- Impact testing
- Cross-channel and tachometer phase analysis
- Envelope detection
- Run-up/coast-down testing
- Bode plots
- Order extraction
- Sound monitoring with up to four microphones
3. VibWorks Balancer
The Balancer is an add-on module designed for field dynamic balancing. It supports up to four physical channels, one- or two-plane balancing, real-time phase stability monitoring, dynamic vector/polar visualization and single-shot balancing using stored shaft sensitivity coefficients.
It also supports:
- ISO 1940-compliant balancing
- Automatic trial-weight recommendations
- Proximity probes for low-speed balancing
- Real-time amplitude and phase values
- Polar diagrams
- Automated balancing reports
- Saving shaft sensitivity coefficients for future balancing jobs
Typical applications
The system is particularly useful for predictive/condition-based maintenance of:
Motors • Pumps • Fans • Blowers • Gearboxes • Compressors • Centrifuges • Turbines • Spindles • Rotating shafts
A technician can collect vibration data in the field, identify problems such as unbalance, misalignment, bearing defects, looseness or resonance, and then use the Balancer module when rotor correction is required.
VibWorks vs. VibWorks LT
BETAVIB also offers VibWorks LT, positioned as a lower-cost portable solution. LT emphasizes portable data acquisition, long-time waveform acquisition, cloud synchronization and access to the UHDM platform, while the full VibWorks Collector/Analyzer/Balancer ecosystem provides substantially more advanced diagnostic and balancing capabilities.
