How it works
You basically walk around the site holding the CR-H1. The iPhone’s LiDAR/camera captures the environment while the HiPer CR provides RTK positioning. The resulting data can be turned into georeferenced 3D point clouds, allowing measurements and site verification without setting up a traditional tripod-based scanner.
What it’s good for

- Situations where you want to move around a site quickly rather than set up a conventional scanner
Topcon specifically positions it as a way to replace or simplify some traditional surveying and drone workflows.
Important limitation
The 10 m range is considerably shorter than a professional long-range terrestrial laser scanner. So the CR-H1 is best thought of as a fast, portable field-capture system, rather than a replacement for something like a high-end Topcon CR-P1 for large-area/high-precision scanning.
Also, the iPhone is part of the system and is purchased separately; Topcon lists an iPhone Pro/Pro Max as required, along with software and network-correction subscriptions.
