The 410-Solar uses the fully automated specular diffuse port plug to measure the diffuse part of the total reflectance at 20°. The diffuse part of the total reflectance remains to be measured when the port plug is raised away from the sphere to let the 20° specular beam out. The diffuse reflectance is subtracted from the overall reflectance to determine the specular beam part. It is calibrated using both a diffuse and a specular calibration coupon for optimal accuracy. After being recorded, the data can be shown either graphically or numerically.

The 410-Solar Reflectometer conforms to ASTM E903 and C1549, the standard test methods for solar reflectance measurements. Measures reflectance at near-normal incidence for seven spectral bands. The 410-Solar specifies the specular and diffuse components of the total reflectance. Choose from eight solar irradiance functions, including air mass 0, 1, 1.5, and 2.0, to calculate total solar reflectance/absorptance.
