Leica iCON ICS20 Laser Templating
The Leica iCON iCS20 is a motorized 3D measurement and laser-layout tool from Leica Geosystems, designed especially for digital templating and interior finishing. It allows construction professionals to measure existing objects and then use those measurements to create accurate digital templates or project installation points.
A typical workflow is:
1. Set up the iCS20
Place the instrument on its quick-mount tripod and perform the automated setup.
2. Connect the tablet
The instrument communicates wirelessly with the tablet running Leica iCON trades.
3. Measure the existing object
The camera and laser are used to select measurement points. For complex shapes, the iCS20 can automatically perform line or area scans.
4. Create the digital template
The captured measurements can be processed into digital 2D/3D information.
5. Export the data
Data can be exported as DXF or DWG for further CAD processing.
6. Project installation points
The iCS20 can then use its laser to project fixing or installation locations back onto the physical construction.
