Camera system
The M30T’s integrated payload combines four sensing functions:
- Wide-angle camera — general scene documentation.
- 48 MP zoom camera — detailed inspection from a safer distance.
- Thermal camera — detects temperature differences and supports hotspot/heat-loss investigation.
- Laser rangefinder — measures targets up to 1,200 m away.
The M30T therefore doesn’t require a separate external thermal payload for routine thermal inspection.

Positioning and measurement
For precision work, the M30T supports RTK, with DJI specifying positioning accuracy down to 1 cm + 1 ppm horizontally and 1.5 cm + 1 ppm vertically when fixed RTK is enabled. Its laser rangefinder extends measurement capability to 1,200 m.

DJI explicitly describes the M30T as the four-sensor version, while the M30 has three sensors.
Battery and durability
The drone uses DJI’s TB30 5,880 mAh intelligent flight battery. DJI rates maximum flight time at 41 minutes, with a maximum hover time of 36 minutes under its specified test conditions. The aircraft has an IP55 rating and is designed for operation from −20°C to 50°C.
Current status
Interestingly, the M30T remains supported by DJI. DJI’s download center lists an Matrice 30 Series release note dated August 11, 2026, and DJI’s Japan service information still lists the Matrice 30T for periodic inspection services.
For newer equipment, DJI’s Matrice 4T is another enterprise thermal-drone option, with a substantially newer multi-camera system.
Bottom line: the M30T is essentially a rugged, relatively compact enterprise inspection drone with integrated thermal + zoom + laser-ranging capability. Its strongest use case is situations where you need to inspect infrastructure from a distance while combining normal imagery with thermal information.
